HOW WE WORK

The technology for designing structures involves a certain procedure and a set of source materials, which ensures the desired quality of the project.

1. Preparation of the technical task

We do this on the basis of primary source data. We give for approval and corrections to the interested parties, in the role of which the technical customer, general contractor, general designer, architectural company most often acts.

2. Collection of initial data

This is an extremely important part of the job. The quality and timeliness of the provided initial data directly affects the term of the work. Also, erroneous or unverified (unapproved) initial data can cause serious alterations in design decisions.
The list of initial data may have individual characteristics for each object, but the main positions are almost always repeated:

architectural solutions;
equipment loads;
location of communications (if they cross the designed structures and this must be taken into account in the design project);
fire-technical characteristics of structures to be required;
in special cases - the degree of aggressiveness of the environment affecting the structure;
drawings (or a simplified diagram - dimensions and marks) of the underlying load-bearing structures, on which the structures under development will be supported.

3. Division of all work into separate stages

These are the stages, for each of which a report will be issued for the approval of the decisions made, so that the customer and other participants in the work can get acquainted with the decisions made in advance and express timely wishes

4. Perform calculations and design individual drawings

Most often, these materials are the first stage of work. They are needed to coordinate the layout solutions (and sometimes the obtained section sizes) with the customer and other project participants.

5. Designing a project

It includes consistent development of all parts of the object at all stages. Parallel work on different stages is also possible. Experience in the development of hundreds of objects over more than 20 years of activity, as well as a large team of engineers, allow many processes to be carried out in parallel. But there are also limitations. This method of parallel design can be considered forced, although often practiced. For objects of the usual layout and not subject to examination, this is a real way to start manufacturing very soon after the start of design work. For objects with a complex design scheme or objects that require an examination of design documentation, this order of work most often gives local acceleration at the initial stage, but does not give a general reduction in terms due to the shift of labor costs to the second part of the project due to a significant number of amendments that have already arisen in released documentation.

6. Post-project support

There are the passing the examination of project documentation, project support of production processes, architectural supervision during installation, etc.

The division of functions here is various and most often there is cooperation between us, general designers, general contractors, manufacturers and installation organizations.

As it becomes clear, a large team is involved in the design development, which includes a technical customer, a general designer, a general contractor, an architectural company, a developer of technological solutions, and a design company (often more than one). The role of each participant is important in achieving all the planned indicators of the project process.

Violation of the technology of design work or lack (or low quality) of the initial data, of course, can affect all indicators of the project. For our part, we try to do everything possible so that the technology of design work is observed.
